To understand political events we must understand the context within which they are occurring and the best way to gain that understanding is through the careful study of history.

Nothing is isolated from history. Nothing comes from nothing. There is always a chain of events that inadvertently or more obviously influences decisions and society more generally. History is an interconnected web that builds us. To quote John Donne ‘No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent’.
